Locomotive Equipment: The May 13th excursion trip is scheduled to be pulled by a 1st generation diesel-electric locomotive, while the June 3rd and July 8th excursion trips are to be pulled by a steam locomotive.

Telegraphy/Morse Code Demonstration: A special program is scheduled to be offered for the July 8th class. Mr. "Si" Simons will have a demonstration set up on railroad telegraphy and Morse code. Si retired in 1987 after working for 43 years as a telegrapher and station agent with the Illinois Central Railroad. This is the 3rd year Si has offered this opportunity to Scouts. It has always been a hit with Scouts and Leaders. More information on Mr. Simons can be found at: http://www.iowarailwaymuseum.org/railroaders.html
