Fall Fun Rally

http://www.fallfunrally.org

The Fall Fun Rally may seem simple enough. In some ways its your basic multi-crew campout. Like many District or even Council campouts, most crews will stay in campsites in one of the Camporee fields of Beaumont Scout Reservation. There will be activities from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
What separates the Fall Fun Rally from other events? It is the largest gathering of Venturers annually (also the largest outdoor Venturing and Exploring event), drawing over 700 people for the last few years. This year we’re planning for over 1000. And you might guess there will be activities to match. It's the sheer size, as well as the quality of the program that sets apart the Fall Fun Rally from other events.

Last year the Fall Fun Rally was the National Centennial Venturing Event, and while the FFR isn't a National Event, people from 8 states are already booked to attend the event.

Camping

Your crew, post, or even older Scout patrol (Venturing Age) can attend the campout for the weekend like you would at any of those other events. Units are welcome to build ground fires or cook on a pressurized fuel stove. Water is available at spigots in the field. The field has traditional latrines. A short walk away are the showers at the pool.Ground fires for cooking or for evening campsite entertainment are allowed with dead wood from the property or your own firewood.

Food and Eats

Most units in past years have brought their own food and cooked at their campsite. But due to popular demand, there will also be an option to purchase prepared food at the event for a reasonable additional cost. Meal plan is an additional cost over the cost of the event.  The meal plan will include 4 meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, as well as breakfast on Sunday. A complete menu will be available shortly

Oct 6th BackBone State Park Climbing and Camping

The main climbing for this trip will happen on Saturday  Oct 6th.

Venture Crews are invited for the day or to camp for the entire weekend.

Several open shelters and the auditorium may be reserved online through the park reservation system. http://iowastateparks.reserveamerica.com/

If you have questions about the lodge or cabins contact:

 Kelly Peterman, at 563-933-2273.

The cost for camping is $15 for as many tents as can fit on a site.

Primitive and non-primitive sites are available, running water is in the non-primitive sites. The lake in this park has a beach. There are also Trout streams closer to the primitive sites.

Rappelling a 100 ft wall!
