Order of the Arrow Events

Each year Mitigwa Lodge offers four different lodge events for all members.

Winter Banquet
The first event of the calendar year is a recognition event where the new lodge officers are installed, awards are given out for the previous year, and lots of fellowship is had.  Winter Banquet is held early in January at a location determined by the outgoing lodge chief.

Snow Flake Pow Wow
This event is based around education, Native American heritage, a pow wow, good food and fellowship.  This weekend event is typically held at Camp Dodge in Johnston in mid February.

One Day of Service
This is a day where we give back to the public.  Each year a chapter is assigned to run this event where we provide service to community facilities.

Spring Conclave
Each year, Mitigwa Lodge spends a day helping to get Camp Mitigwa ready for the summer camp season.  This weekend in mid May is also a chance for Ordeal Candidates to complete their Ordeal, and Ordeal members may complete their Brotherhood.

Trail Crew Week
Week one of summer camp at Camp Mitigwa offers you an opportunity to spend a week working on the Dan Beard Trail or other conservation projects at Camp Mitigwa.  In exchange for your cheerful service, we will pay you $100.

Fall Fellowship
In mid August, Mitigwa Lodge takes over Camp Mitigwa for an weekend event where many do their Ordeal and Brotherhood, new Vigil Candidates are announced, the lodge holds its annual business meeting where new lodge officers are elected, and fun, food, and fellowship abound.

Section Conclave
Mitigwa Lodge is part of a larger body of the Order of the Arrow - Section C-5B.  Each year, the five lodges that make up our section get together for a weekend event hosted by a different lodge.  Mitigwa Lodge hosted this event in 2011 and the 2012 event will be hosted by the Dzie-Hauk Tonga Lodge at Camp Jayhawk in Oskaloosa, Kansas.

National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC)
As the name implies, this is a national event for Order of the Arrow members much like the Boy Scout National Jamboree is for all Boy Scout members.  This event is held every three years on a major college campus.  There will be a NOAC in 2012 that will be held at Michican State University in East Lansing Michigan.  Mitigwa Lodge will take a contingen to NOAC.  Check out the NOAC page for more information.
