Summer Camp
Camp Akela, on the Mitigwa Scout Reservation – a safe place for kids to get dirty!
Research shows that direct exposure to nature is essential for the healthy development, both physically and mentally, of our children. Here at Camp Akela we go to great lengths to provide a robust, age appropriate program that immerses kids in natural surroundings. We put an emphasis on learning about nature, Scout skills, and living with others, all while we unplug and forget about the worries of the day.
So, come play with us! We will get wet, get warm, feel warm fuzzies and go home with a lifetime of memories! Come prepared to have fun!
Summer camp is broken up into two primary categories based on the age of the boy. Please read below and determine which is most appropriate for your son.
Cub Scout Summer Camp is a two-night adventure that gives new Wolf and Bear Cubs (boys entering 2nd & 3rd grades) an opportunity to begin to learn outdoor living skills in a fun and safe environment.
Webelos Summer Camp is a three-night experience for our older Cub Scouts – boys entering 4th and 5th grades. Not quite the intensity of Boy Scout Camp, but more challenging than Cub Scout Camp, always age appropriate.
