Corporate Giving

Support from foundations and corporations are vital to the ability of Scouting to accomplish its mission. Although Scouting is a member agency of United Way, it only represents 8% percent of our funding.

A gift to Scouting is an investment in a movement that has changed the lives of over 50 million Americans and that number is growing every year. Scouting is a proven youth program that strives to develop quality leaders through education, service and life-skills.

In fiscal 2009, contributions from corporations and foundations totaled $1 million.

Corporations and foundations can strengthen Scouting in many ways, including:

Helping Scouting continue to educate and train Scout leaders to ensure a vital program
Assisting Scouting in achieving youth membership growth
Ensuring that Scouting continues to conduct cutting-edge youth programs, thereby improving the health and well-being of people in our region and society as a whole
Assisting Scouting in sharing its expertise through outreach programs in Iowa and the surrounding region.
