The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award for distinguished service to youth that can be awarded by a Boy Scout Council. Since 1931, the Silver Beaver Award has been presented to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not actively seek it.
Confidential nominations are accepted annually, with selection being made by a select group of volunteers representing each district. Award are presented at each district's annual dinner or volunteer celebration.
