Not only is February Blue and Gold month, but it is also cross over time. If your Webelos aren't ready to cross over, we would love to take the time and help. There are a lot of troops in Mid-Iowa Council that have already started hosting Webelos, for either meetings or campouts, to show them what to expect when they become Boy Scouts. If you need more information about Webelos to Scout transition, you may contact Scott Walter, Charles Vonderheid, or your District Executive at 515-266-2135.
If you have no Webelos crossing over to your troop, remember that 80% of our Boy Scouts were once Webelos. Have you asked your feeder pack about the status of their Webelos? Have you extended an invitation to those Webelos to go camping or attend one of your troop meetings? If the answer to those questions is "no", contact your District Executive at 515-266-2135 and he/she will gladly help you with your recruitment efforts.
